LAIJOU

Laijou is a Bodo word, means tender leaf. It is a multilangual journal published by the Calcutta Bodo Association comprising articles in Bodo, English, Bengali, Hindi etc. All the publications have a rich collection of Khonthai (poem), Raithai (Essay), Chungdo solo (Short story), Menthai (songs) etc. which reflects rich culture and socio-economic status of Bodo people.

Goverment of India has graciously approved Devnagari as official script for writing Bodo language. Most of the articles of Laijou are written in Devnagari script.

You can enjoy the flavour of laijou published in years to gather from the archive, which will take you through the journey of different times witnessing the socio-economic developments of the Bodos.
